MRS. ATKISSON IS TAKEN BY DEATH TUESDAY
Mrs. Laura Atkisson, 52, one of the early settlers of Picher, succumbed to a pneumonia attack at the American Hospital Tuesday afternoon. Death Came after a valient effort to throw off the ravages of the disease by Mrs. Atkisson. Her husband, Claude Atkisson and other near relatives were with her when death came.
The body of Mrs. Atkisson was taken from Picher to the home of a daughter, Mrs. Clint Hawkins, Carterville, MO., where it remained until Thursday when it was returned to Picher to lie in state at the First Baptist church from 10:30 a.m. until noon.
Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church, Picher, at 2 o'clock and the burial was in Carterville Cemetery in Carterville, Missouri
