PHILLIP SCOTT 80, OF GIBBS DIES TODAY
---Phillip Lawson Scott, 80, of Gibbs, died at 8:45 this morning in a Kirksville hospital where he had been a patient since Dec. 29.
---The son of Fletcher and Permillia Merrill Scott, he was born June 12, 1891 in Knox County. On Jan. 26, 1916 he married Laura Kissinger who preceded him in death on Feb. 7, 1920. In Kirksville on Feb. 16, 1927 he married Blanche Buck who survives. Also surviving are eight children: Mrs. Carol (Letha) Miller of Lathrop, La Holt Scott of Glenview, Ill., Mrs. LaVerne (Nadine) Pinkston of Kirksville, Mrs. Lyle (Neva) Buckallew of Kansas City and Mrs. Donald (Katheryn) Gregory of Kirksville, 22 grandchildren and four sisters; Mrs. Reuel (Delia) Robert of Kirksville, Mrs. Omer (Blanche) Seberg of Mt. Pleasant, Ka., Mrs. Henry (Cliffie) Killbride of Knox County Nursing Home, Edina and Mrs. Wart (Ruth) Whitney of Kearney, Nebraska.
---He was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.
---He was a member of the Gibbs Christian Church where funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at two o'clock. The Rev. William Davidson pastor of the First Christian Church of Kirksville, will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Maple Hills Cemetery.
---Bearers will be: Larry Miller, Donald Scot, Tony Buckallew, Terry Newman, Bruce Pinkston, and James Layne.
---Honorary bearers will be remaining grandsons.
---The body is at the funeral home of Davis and Davis, where it will remain until one o'clock Friday afternoon when it will be taken to the church.
