PHILLIPS - MRS. MARTHA JANE, aged 82 years, passed away at residence, 5616 Tennessee avenue, Saturday morning.

Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Myrtle E. Skipper; son, Horton M. Phillips, of Chattanooga; step-daughter, Mrs. Sallle Schmidt, of Chickamauga, Ga.; stepson, Howard S. Phillips, of St Louis, Mo.; brother, Daniel A. Allison, High Point Ga.; also survived by two grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.

Mrs. Phillips has made her home in St. Elmo for the past thirty-seven years and was the oldest member of the St. Elmo Baptist church.

Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. T. W. Calloway and the Rev. C. P. Hardin, will be held from the St. Elmo Baptist church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment in Chattanooga Valley cemetery.

Pallbearers: active, Hubert Perry, John Ray, John Powell, John L.Harper, Fred Fowler and R. C. Bell; honorary, members of the T. E. L. Sunday school class and the Ruth Randall circle.

The body will be at the residence, 5616 Tennessee avenue, until the hour of service. Arrangements by the National Funeral home.
