Edna Grace Holman Fonnesbeck quietly left this life on Thursday afternoon, September 21, 2006, at her home in Hyde Park, with her family at her side.

She was born on November 22, 1914, in Logan Utah. She was the 13th and youngest child of Ingram Bell and Ann Rachel Stowe Holman. She grew up in the West Center Street area of Logan, attending Brigham Young training academy and other Logan City Schools. She was a member of the LDS Church.

Edna married Max M Fonnesbeck, on July 28th 1938. They were the parents of 2 sons and 1 daughter. They lived in California, Ogden, and Provo, Utah. At the end of WWII they moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho to start their business, Fonnesbeck Electric. Edna worked in their store as a salesperson and bookkeeper until they moved to Logan in 1956. Max continued with telephone and electrical contracting and Edna was bookkeeper and secretary for their company as she supported Max in his endeavors. They lived in Logan until 1976 when they moved to River Heights. In November of 2001 they moved to Hyde Park to live with their daughter and son-in-law, due to failing health.

Edna had a gift and love for music. She was an accomplished pianist and accompanied the Logan Third Ward Primary for many years. She gave many years of service accompanying musical groups, and providing music for funerals. Her most enjoyable moments were providing accompaniment for her sister and her father when they would perform vocal numbers. Edna also possessed the ability to vocally harmonize with almost any piece of music. She appreciated and taught the love of good music to her children and grandchildren. She particularly enjoyed hearing the Utah symphony and going to Salt Lake with her sisters to watch Liberace in concert.

She adored her grandchildren and gave many hours of service caring for them. She especially loved her trips to Disneyland with her daughter and grandchildren. Edna loved to shop and always made Christmas and birthdays very special for her family. She made wonderful Sunday dinners and her specialty was Roast beef and Yorkshire pudding. Many extended family members remember fond times spent visiting around Edna's kitchen table in Logan.

Edna spent her last years attending the Adult Day center at Sunshine Terrace. She made many dear friends there and also in her ward in Hyde Park. She had a very keen mind and sharp wit up until her last moments in life. She was well loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Max, sons Gary and Max Jr., her parents and adult siblings: Mabel Godfrey, Clara Dawson, Ingram, Albert, Alvin, Grant Holman and their spouses, 6 infant siblings, step son and grandson Merrill Fonnesbeck and Jeffery Blackhurst, also Max's parents and brothers, and several dear friends.

Edna is survived by her daughter, Janet (Terry) Pitcher, dahter-in-law, Betty Fonnesbeck (Gary) and Sharlene Fonnesbeck (Merrill), Grandchildren; Lisa (Joe) Neilson, Ted Fonnesbeck, Danielle (Jason) Simper, Jordan (Mandi) Pitcher, Andrew and Erin Pitcher. Step Grandchildren; Chris (Mark) Blackhurst, Kathy (Charlie) Rogers, Steven (Noreen) Fonnesbeck, and Carol (Ray) Hatchett. She has 4 great grandchildren, and 8 step-great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 25, 2006 at the Hyde Park 8th Ward Chapel, 410 North 100 West, Hyde Park at 1:00 p.m. There will be a viewing prior to the services from 11:00-12:30. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery. A special thanks to the Intermountain Hospice team, the wonderful staff of the Sunshine Terrace Adult day center, Dr. N.T. Brown and staff, her "reading ladies" and all of you that so lovingly cared for Edna these past few years. You enriched her life in so many ways and she was very grateful to all of you.
