Walter Mahlon Ackerman, 83, Milford, died Sunday, Jan 28, 1996, at Lincoln General Hospital.
He was born in Milford and attended Pleasant View School, District #47. He lived on the same farm for all of his 83 years.
He was married to his first wife, June (Hickerson) for 19 years, she died in 1940. They had four children who he continued to raise with the help of many friends and relatives.
In 1960, he married Grace (McEwen).
He was a farmer and he also sold "Pearson" livestock head-gates.
He was a member of the Assembly of God Church, Milford, and the Gideons.
His survivors include his wife, Grace, sons and daughters-in-law, Dale an d Marilyn, Grand Island, and Glen and Sharon , Albuquerque , N.M., daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Garrett Simons, Lincoln, Beverly and Lyle Neal and Ann and Verlin Miller, all
Milford, 12 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, sisters, Ruth Roll, Friend , and Esther Ackerman, Milford, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, Jan. 31, at the Milford Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Solomon Wang officiating. Interment was in the Pleasant View Cemetery, rural Milford.
