Geraldine June Hickerson Ackerman Obit

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Assembly of God Church with Rev. B. W. White in charge, for Mrs. Walter Ackerman, 38 who died at her home near Milford Tuesday following a lengthy illness. Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery.

Surviving are her husband, two sons, Dale and Glen and two daughters, Janice and Beverly all at home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hickerson and three brothers, Ray of Milford, and Paul and Robert of Redondo Beach, Calif.

Geraldine June Ackerman daughter of Harry and Rilla Hickerson was born June 26, 1920 at Milford, Nebr. She passed away at her home near Milford on January 13, 1959 at the age of 38 years, six months and 18 days.

On June 2, 1940, she was united in marriage to Walter Ackerman. To this union was born four children, Dale, Glen, Janice and Beverly, all at home. She has three brothers, Paul and Robert Hickerson of Torrance, California and Ray Hickerson of Milford, Nebr.

She has resided in Milford and Community most of her life with the exception of a short time when she and her parents lived near Ashland, Nebr. She attended school in Milford and graduated from the Milford Public High School. She taught in local rural schools for three years.

In her youth, June accepted Christ as her personal savior and later united with the Assembly of God church in Milford, where she remained a faithful member until her passing. She was active in her church work and enjoyed working for her savior. She taught and held various positions in the Sunday School and Church for a number of years. For the past few years she had taught the Christ Ambassador's Class in the Sunday School. She was also president of the Christ Ambassador's Youth Group for several years.

She leaves to mourn her departure and will be greatly missed by her husband, her children, parents and brothers. She also leaves a number of aunts and uncles, a host of relatives and friends. Our loss is heaven's gain.

Pallbearers were Ronald Clapman, Dale McGonigle, Dean Roll, Gerald Eigsti, Le Roy Smith and Richard Miller.
