Banderob, Joergen (26 MAR 1843 - 24 SEP 1907)
Joergen Banderob, many years a resident of here (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.), died at the home of his daughters, Mrs. Wm. Sattler and Mrs. Joseph Klauck, at Stanley, Wis., on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 1907, aged 64 years, 5 months and 27 days, of heart disease and dropsy, after an illness extending over a period of nearly two years. Mr. Banderob was born at New Holstein, Germany, on March 26, 1843, and came to America with his parents, locating at New Holstein, Wis., in 1857, where he resided for six years, going from there to Davenport, Iowa, where he also remained for six years. On Oct. 2, 1867, he was united in marriage with Marie Banderob at Davenport, and two years later returned to New Holstein, where he continued to reside until 1884, when he came to the town of Worden, Clark County, where he conducted a farm, and in 1890 purchased the Commercial House and removed to this village. For a period of twelve years he conducted this popular hostelry, selling the same in 1902, since which time he has not been engaged in business on account of failing health. During the last four or five months of his illness he was practically helpless, and the constant attention of his faithful wife and daughters served to lighten his burden, and everything human hands could do was done for his comfort. The end was as peaceful as the close of a beautiful summer day, when daylight fades into nigh with increasing loveliness.
The funeral services will be held at the M. E. Church in this village at 2:30 o'clock today, Rev. B. H. Schrein officiating, interment taking place in the Thorp Village Cemetery.
Besides a devoted wife he leaves two sons and six daughters, Mrs. Wm. Sattler, Mrs. Joseph Klauck, Mrs. Wesley Powers, Miss Anna and George Banderob Jr., Of Stanley, Louis Banderob of Eau Claire, and Mrs. J. O. Rasmussen and Mrs. Herman Friess of this village, and one sister, Mrs. Peter Lauson, of this village, and five brothers, John Banderob of Oshkosh, Claus Banderob of the town of Worden, Hans Banderob of Oregon, Peter Banderob of the National Soldiers' Home, Milwaukee, and Herman Banderob of this village.
