William B. Ansbro, 77, of 22 East Bergen pl., Red Bank, died Monday at the Ivy nursing home, Middletown township. He had been ill several months and had been a patient at the nursing home four days.
Mr. Ansbro was born at Keyport, son of the the late Patrick and Margaret Ansbro. He had lived in Monmouth county all his life. His wife, Mrs. Bertha Haggerty Ansbro died 19 years ago. Mr. Ansbro, who for many years was a railroad conductor with the Jersey Central lines, retired eight years ago. He was a member of the brotherhood of Railway Conductors and of St. James Catholic church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Charles J. Olson and Miss Regina M. Ansbro, both of Red Bank; a son, William B. Ansbro, Jr., Little Silver; a sister, Mrs. Anne Shannahan, New York city, and a grandson.
The funeral was held this morning at St. James church. A requiem mass was offered by Msgr. Joseph T. Casey.
Burial under the directions of the Worden funeral home was in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
