Velma Clark, 53, died at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Fort Pierce. She was born in Fort Pierce and was a lifelong resident.
She was employed as a cook, housekeeper and caretaker and worked for many years for the St. Lucie Food and Goodwill. She attended the schools of St. Lucie County.
Velma was preceded in death by her parents: Henry Clark & Flarrie Mae Washington Clark, sisters: Carolyn and Vanessa, brother; Edward Clark.
Survivors include: Sons: Raleigh Dean Hightower and Timothy Lewis Hightower both of Fort Pierce, Florida
Brothers: George Clark, Melvin Clark and Don Clark all of Fort Pierce, Fl.
Sisters: Earnestine Grier, Dorothy Clark, Henrietta Clark and Jeanetta Tolbert all of Fort Pierce, Florida

Services: Visitation will be 3 pm-7 pm, Friday, October 16, 2009, and Saturday, October 17, 2009, 9 am -12 pm at Sarah's Memorial Chapel. A celebration of life will be conducted at 2 pm, Saturday, October 17, 2009, at Greater New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Clarence Ingram officiating. Burial will be in Sarah's Memorial Garden.
