Elwin Ray Lott
Elwin Ray Lott, 64, 950 North 10, died Saturday as a result of an automobile accident in Interstate 15 just north of Pocatello.
Lott was born Jan. 8, 1911, in Duchesne, Utah, a son of Charles Wilford and Elva Mower Lott. He married Erma Viola Lish, Dec. 1, 1937, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
His early years he lived in Duchesne, Utah, then came to Tyhee and later made his home in Pocatello. He had been employed at the Pocatello Flour Mill, then during World War II at the Naval Ordnance Plant. The past 19 years he had been groundskeeper at the Idaho State University. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and his grandchildren.
Lott was an elder in the Fourth Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he had been a home teacher.
He was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons and the Idaho State Employees Association.
A twin brother, Reed LaMont, died Feb. 2, 1911. His father also preceded him in death, as well as several brothers and sisters.
Surviving are his widow, Pocatello; his mother, Pocatello, one daughter, Anna Louise Walker, Pocatello; five grandchildren; three brothers, Earl Wayne of Portland, Ore.; Alden of Salt Lake City, and Vaughn of Duchesne, Utah; four sisters Mrs. Rulon (Opal) Salterfield of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Pat (Velma) Patterson of Las Vegas, Nev., Mrs. James (Alta) Carney of Pocatello; and Mrs. Lorna Michogg, Anchorage, Ky.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the LDS Fourth Ward Chapel, 10th and Sublette, with Bishop Robert Winward officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Manning Funeral Chapel Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.
Burial will be in the Mountainview Cemetery.
