Miss Lydia Mae Ackerman, daughter of Abraham and Ada L. Ackerman, was born near Milford on Dec. 4, 1899, and passed away at her home in Milford on Oct. 21, 1953, having attained the age of 53 years, 10 months, and 17 days. Her entire life was spent
in this community.

Lydia accepted Christ as her personal Savior in her youth and united with the Assembly of God Church and was a faithful member. She was active in the Sunday School and the Young People's departments, having taught Sunday School for many years.

She leaves to mourn her passing her mother, Ada L., and four brothers, Jess E., Walter M., and Paul L., all of Milford, and John F. of Groveland, IL, and two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Roll and Esther L. Ackerman of Milford.

Preceding her in death were her father, one brother, and one sister.

During her recent illness her brother, John, composed and dedicated the following poem to her:

God's Own
Aren't you glad you are God's own? So now you can in His care atone.
He knows His children by their name And all of them He will gladly claim. He knows when you are in distress then wants to be your closest friend, to bless. A precious child how sweet to be From one who said: "I'll never leave thee." This word is filled with pain and care, In times like this, how sweet His presence to share Now put your hand in God's, then pray. That through eternity, forever, with Him you'll stay. God's rewards will seem great to His children true For labors done by Christians just like you. Tears then will turn to endless joy and peace, As sorrow and pain will forever cease.

Those, from out of town who attended the funeral services were John F. Ackerman, Groveland, IL, Mariane Ackerman, Morton, IL, Mrs. Christina Ackerman, Ohio, IL, Mrs. Harold Ackerman and Wilber, Princeton, IL., Mr. and Mrs. Nick Potacka, Beaver Crossing, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Nightingale, Mr. and Mrs. Wm Wagner, Miss Mable Miller, Mrs. Charles Millard, Rev. and Mrs. S. K. Biffle of Lincoln, Rev. and Mrs. George Acree, Prairie Village, Kan., Rev. and Mrs. .Harold Champlain, Grand Island, Mr. and Mrs. Eli Miller and Dan, Mr. and Mrs. Willis O'Neil, Mr. and Mrs. Harve Herman, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Roll, Friend, and Miss Viola Miller, Plattsmouth.
