98, of Beardstown died Saturday at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.
Survivors: two daughters, Mary E. Mauterer of Decatur and Dorothy R. O'Hara of Beardstown; a son, Robert R. Baujan of Miami; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Alexius Catholic Church in Beardstown. Burial: Oak Grove Cemetery, Beardstown.
Cline Funeral Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements.

According to the 1915 Beardstown Illinois City Directory, Dorothy Baujan lived with her husband, G. E. Baujan, at 202 E. 2nd Street in Beardstown. G. E. Baujan worked for S & B Supply Company.

According to Beardstown School district records, Dorothy Baujan was an English teacher and school librarian from 1956 - 1957.

From the November 14, 1996 issue of the Illinoian-Star newspaper, Beardstown, Illinois: Dorothy Gardner Baujan, 98, formerly of 105 Washington Avenue, Beardstown, died at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville on Saturday, November 9. She was born July 31, 1898, the daughter of Harry H. and Bertie Keefer Gardner. She married Raymond Baujan on August 25, 1924. He preceded her in death on August 24, 1979. She was also preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother. She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Rae O'Hara, Beardstown, and Mary Beth (husband Roger) Mauterer of Decatur; one son, Robert (wife Carol) Baujan of Miami, FL; nine grandchildren, Kevin O'Hara, Molly O'Hara Beck, Patty O'Hara Walker, Mary Kay Mauterer Demazure, Christine Mauterer Pogue, Lisbeth Mauterer Shusterich, Martha Mauterer Swendsen, Michael and Jennifer Baujan; and 13 great grandchildren. She was valedictorian of Beardstown High School's Class of 1916 and graduated with honors from Northwestern University in the School of Speech and Drama. She then joined the Chautaqua New York theatrical group circuit and became an integral part of that touring group and a gifted dramatist. She was an active member of the community of Beardstown; past chairperson of the Scholarship Fund of Schmitt Memorial Hospital, past president of the Beardstown Woman's Club and a member of St. Alexius Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She taught for many years in the Beardstown school system. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. A funeral mass was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 12 at St. Alexius Catholic Church with Father Gene Weitzel officiating. Barb Braner was the organist. Pallbearers were J. D. Bredehoft, Bob Donaldson, John Musgrove, Ivan Alloway, Glenn Fearneyhough and Milton McClure, Sr. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery. Cline Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
