George W. Fish

Funeral services for George W. Fish, whose death occurred May 13, were held Thursday at Oak Grove Christian church, conducted by Rev. Lafayette Hoff, of Cedar Rapids. Interment was in the Shellsburg cemetery.

The deceased was born in (Benton county Iowa not Washington county ohio) (But some of his sibblings were born in Washington county, Ohio) October 25, 1853, and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Fish. August 27, 1884, he was united in marriage to Miss Jane Newton, and to this union two children were born. They are Mrs(correction he was married to Esther Manday Newton not Jane Newton). Mae Weatherwax, of Independence, and Oscar Fish, who is still with the army of occupation in France. A brother, John, and one sister, Mrs. ElsSome of his older siblings were born in Washington
County, Ohio.
ie Michael, of Cedar Rapids, also survive.

Mr. Fish was a man of fine character. He united with the Christian church in 1884 and later transferred to the Baptist church.
