Uncasville - George Raymond Taylor, 73, of Old Colchester Rd., passed away on Wednesday July 30, 2008, at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital.
He was born Aug. 2, 1934, in New London. He was the son of the late Leroy and Irene (Rogers) Taylor. He married Marion Hart Taylor July 24, 1963, she survives him. He had worked for Golart Motors until he opened TayloRs American, on Route 32 in Uncasville, which he owned and operated from 1973 until his retirement in 1985. He was also an avid farmer and especially loved his cows.
The family would like to extend their special thanks to the staff of the 6th floor at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital for their dedication and great care.
In addition to his wife, Marion, he is survived by his children; also by his nine brothers and sisters; fourteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and by his two dogs, Zack and Jake.
