Lloyd E. Abbott

Lloyd E. Abbott was born in December 29, 1904 in Elk City to Frank E. Abbott and Anna Pearl McGunegill and died Saturday.

Lloyd was a pharmacist at Gregory Drug in Elk City until 1941 when he started working for Alexander Drug. He was in the military serving as a medic on troop trains accompanying service men to different bases in the U.S. He married Dorothy Jo Williams and moved to Oklahoma City returning to work for Alexander Drug, later bought by McKesson Corporation. He was a member of St. Lukes Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday 9 a.m., in the Chapel of the Guardian West Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Elk City at 12:30 p.m.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and sister, who died as infants.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years; two sons, Paul Abbott of Houston, Texas and Jerry Abbott of Oklahoma City; sister-in-law, Mrs. Huff Kelly of Elk City; many nieces and nephews.
