-- BLOWING ROCK, N.C. -- Private services for Dr. Thomas Glenn Abell, 68, will be held at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church of Boone, with private burial Thursday in Evergreen Cemetery of Chester.
Dr. Abell died Monday, July 17, 1995. Born in Chester, he was a son of the late Robert E. and Alice Glenn Abell. He attended Davidson College, was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and received his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. A Navy veteran of the Korean War, he retired from medical practice in Chester and was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church of Boone.
Surviving are his wife, Marguerite Isenrich Abell; daughters, Ponti Edwards of Rock Hill and Heidi Secker of Savannah; a son, Enrique Abell of Atlanta; a sister, Sophie Brown of Charlotte; and three grandchildren.
