A. Lorine "Rene" Albright Lennon, 78, of New Hartford passed away Monday, May 15, 2006, in St. Elizabeth Medical Center with her loving family by her side. Rene was born on February 5, 1928 in Utica the daughter of Joseph and Mary Barry Albright. She was a graduate of Utica Catholic Academy. On June 4, 1949, she married William J. Lennon in the Church of the Blessed Sacrament. They enjoyed a blessed union of 55 years prior to his death on February 17, 2005. Rene was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, St. Anthony's Church, Inlet and was a communicant of the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and Godmother, Rene's life revolved around her children. During the years she worked with Lennon's Jewelers, her family still remained her first priority. She was extremely proud of her close knit family, marveling at their successes and enjoying their desire to support each other. Surviving are her six children, Patricia Lennon, New Hartford, Carol Benzo and her husband, Pasquale, Deerfield, Michael Lennon and his wife, Gail (Costello), New Hartford, Barbara Cooper and her husband, Richard, New Hartford, Christine Szczesniak and her husband, Bruce, Liverpool; Mary Beth Irving and her husband, Scott, E. Syracuse; grandchildren, Julie Benzo-Barber and her husband, Mark, Pasquale R. Benzo, Michael, Nicholas and Brendan Lennon, Stacy, Bill and Kelly Cooper, Matthew, Steven, Kayla and Courtney Szczesniak, Patrick and Erin Irving. She also leaves a sister, Marie Adams, Liverpool; a brother, Robert Albright and his wife, Kay, New Hartford; and many nieces, nephews and cousins with whom she was close. Rene was predeceased by her cherished son, Thomas D. Lennon, Corporal, USMC in August of 1982. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:15 a.m. from Nunn & McGrath Funeral Directors, 470 French Road, Utica and at 11:00 a.m. from the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Whitesboro. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Wednesday (today) from 4-8 p.m. Rene's family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Lutheran Active Day Care for their care and support over the last year. Also a special thanks to the staff of St. Elizabeth Medical Center ER, the CTICU and PCU, especially Scott and Matt for their kindness and compassion during a difficult time. Remembrances in Rene's name may be made to the charity of your choice.
