Elmer L. Kinney, 83, of Colton died of heart failure Friday at San Bernardino Community Hospital. A native of Quinlin, Oklahoma, he lived in Colton for 36 years. He was a self-employed baker for 53 years. Kinney was a member of the Golden Ashlar Lodge 306 of Colton, and a recipient of the Hiram Award. He was a lifetime member of the Lions Club of Colton, and a member of the Elks Club, the Eagles Club, the Odd Fellows Club, and the Junior Chamber of Commerce, all of Nampa, Idaho. He was a past member of the city council and the school board of Nampa, Idaho. He was a member of the First Babtist Church of Colton. Survivors include his wife, Mildred of Colton; three sons, Norman of Colton, Darrell of Washington and Donald of Colorado; three sisters, Dorothy Flory of Idaho, Joyce Snow of California, and Ida Ashley of California; and 10 grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 8pm today at the Colton Funeral Chapel, 1275 N. La Cadena Drive, Colton. Services will be at 10am Tuesday, also at the chapel, with burial at Montecito Memorial Park, 24145 Barton Road, Loma Linda. The family has suggested donations to the First Babtist Church of Colton, 170 West F. St., Colton, Calif. 92324
