Pleasant Bacon Moon Dies in Hospital Here
Funeral services for Pleasant Bacon Moon, Sr. 76, who died this morning at the Bedford County hospital after a brief illness, will be conducted at the Thompson funeral home Friday at 2 pm.
The Revs. William A. James and Homer A. Cate will officiate. Interment will be in Willow Mount cemetery.
Born in Bedford County, Mr. Moon was the son of the late Pleasant Bacon and Sarah Clark Moon.
He was a retired rural mail carrier.
Survived by his wife, Mrs. Lena Carpenter Moon, one son, P.B. Moon,Jr. both of Shelbyville; one sister, Mrs. Betty Batts of Chapel Hill. Six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Moon was a member of the Presbyterian church.
