Here lies Abner Vincent Wilcox, son of Oliver W. Wilcox and his first wife, Harriet VINCENT.

The specific cause of his death is unknown. According to his Civil war record on Ancestry.com, he was wounded, taken POW and didn't survive.

Shortly after the Civil War began, he enlisted at age 20 in Company A, Michigan 11th, Infantry Regiment on August 24, 1861 at Centreville, Michigan. His rank was Corporal. He was wounded and taken prisoner at Chattanooga, Tennesee after fighting in the Wauhatchie battle, which began the battle of Chattanooga.
