Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mr. John Max Haynie, age 77, of Dublin, GA. on Saturday, October 17, 2009, at the Bethany Nursing Home Center in Jenkins County after an extended illness.

Graveside services will be Monday, October 19, 2009, at 2PM in the Swainsboro City Cemetery with Elder Tommy Rountree officiating.

The family will receive friends Monday at Durden-Hudson Funeral Home from 12PM until time of the service.

Pallbearers are Phillip Gambrell, Grayson Johnson, Jimmy Passmore, and Grayson Watson.

Mr. Haynie was a native of Elbert County. He was retired with National Tobacco Company. Mr. Haynie was an avid fisherman and hunter, a member of the American Legion, and a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents, John L. and Mabel Grayham Haynie.

Survivors include: his wife, Marion Ridgill Johnson Haynie of Dublin, GA; two daughters, Tina Gaskin of Richmond Hill, GA, and Terry Haynie of Alabama; one step-daughter, Kathy Barron of Millen, GA; one son, John Anthony "Tony" Haynie of Columbus, GA; two step-sons, Jerry Johnson of Swainsboro, GA, and Dr. Jeff Johnson of Macon, GA; 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements for the graveside services for Mr. John Max Haynie of Dublin, GA.
