Daughter of the late Clement and Viola (Marcell) Harris. Graduated from Stambaugh High School in Stambaugh, MI with the Class of 1948. Married Clemens J. Schmidt on June 26, 1954 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Iron River, MI. Clemens preceeded her in death on June 16, 2003. Mary Elaine and Clemens moved to Two Rivers, WI in 1967. Mary Elaine enjoyed being with her family and friends and enjoyed decorating their home for seasons and holidays. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ladies Of Sacred Heart, and The Sacred Heart Choir, currently St. Peter The Fisherman Catholic Church.

Survivors Include: One daughter and Son-In-Law: Linda and Michael Kirchen: Two Rivers, WI; One brother: Charles Harris Sr.: Green Bay, WI; Sister-In-Law Kathleen Harris: Menasha, WI; Many neices, nephews, great-neices, great-nephews, cousins. Other relatives and friends also survive.

Mary Elaine was preceeded in death by her Husband: Clemens J. Schmidt; Infant Sister: Therese Harris; Brother: Lawrence Harris; Godmother: Lillian Eusebio; Godfather: John Eusebio; Father-In-Law: George Schmidt; Mother-In-Law: Barbara Schmidt; and a Brother-In-Law: Edward Schmidt
