Gladys Hislop Minnerly, 92, formerly of Mountain Home, died Monday, April 11, 2005, at a Meridian Care Center.

She previously lived in Mountain Home and Parma, Nu Acres, Idaho.

Funeral services were held Friday, April 15, at the Summer Funeral Homes, Ustick Chapel, Meridian. Inurnment followed at the Meridian Cemetery.

Gladys was born in Humboldt, Iowa, on Sept. 4, 1912, the daughter of Thomas and Margaret Johnson Schultz and was raised in Humboldt and Algoona, Iowa, with her two brothers and three sisters.

Gladys and her best-friend sister, Mary, went to work for Midwest Portraits and traveled intensively during the war. It was while she was a saleslady for Midwest that she met her future husband, Col. Dean Hislop, whom she married on Jan. 13, 1947, in Ogden, Utah. To that union three children were born. They later divorced.

Gladys then married Harold Minnerly of Mountain Home on Oct. 26, 1985, in Boise. They lived in Mountain Home and Yuma, Ariz., until ill health forced Gladys to move to Meridian to Sunbridge Assisted Living Center in September 2001. She resided at Sunbridge until her death.

Her husband, Harold, died Dec. 6, 2001.

Gladys is survived by: her three child and their spouses, Doug and Patty Hislop of LaGrande, Ore., Vicki Jo and Ronnie Terashima of Boise, and Tommy and Penny Hislop of Meridian; eight grandchild and 12 great-grandchildren; her brother, Orville Schultz of Tacoma, Wash.; her sister, Mary Allison of Arlington Heights, Ill., and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, a brother, John, and two sisters, Ann and Lillian.
