Funeral services were held at the Viking Lutheran Church on 13 Aug 1984 for Lewis Ambers with burial in the church cemetery.


He was born in Norway Lake Township of Wells County, ND to parent Melvin and Louisa (Hagen) Ambers. He was reared there and educated as well in Norway Lake Township. He was married to Olga Simonson on 6 Jun 1924 in Fessenden, ND. The couple farmed until 1962 and they moved to Washington. Olga passed in 1977. Lewis later married Vonda Lee Stanley on 16 Apr 1977. They made their home in Battleground, WA.


Survivors include his second wife vonda Lee; five sons: Lawrence and Judal both of Vancouver, WA, Kenneth of Monmouth, OR, Alvern of LaCenter, WA and Stanton of Heimdal; three daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Clarice) Fossen and Mrs. Ray (Vionne) Gebbie both of Vancouver, WA and Mrs. Hilding (Lila) Alfstad of Sheyenne; 25 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; four brothers: Oscar of Heimal, George of Maddock, Harry of New Rockford and Elmer of Sand Point, ID; one sister, Mrs. Richard (Myrtle) Aanderud of Everett, WA; 5 stepchildren and 5 step-grandchildren.


Preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Olga; sons, Lester and Roy; daughter, Alvina; grandsons, Steven and Kail; brothers, Arnold, Walter and Lawrence.
