Joseph O. Langlie, 66, long time Devils Lake resident died at his Devils Lake home on Thursday. Funeral services were held on Monday, Nov 22, 1965 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church with Rev. E. L. Rude officiating. Mr. Langlie was born on 2 Oct 1899 at Lew Lake, MN. He came to the South Viking Township area of Benson County, ND with his parents in 1906. He was educated there and then farmed with his father until 1930 when he moved to Devils Lake and established a cabinet shop which he operated until entering the Army service during World War Two. He was discharged in 1944 and resumed operation of the cabinet shop which he continued until his death. He was a member of the Viking Lutheran church. He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Charles (Esther) Kristofitz of Fargo, ND; two brothers, Arthur Langlie and Palmer Langlie both of Fargo; one nephew, Harley Gilbertson of Flora, ND; and one cousin Randall Bergsgaard of Maddock. Preceding him in death were his parents and one sister.
