Jesse Gracy Wilson Jr.

Jesse Gracy Wilson Jr. of Tauranga, New Zealand, died Tuesday in a local hospital of a stroke. He was 67.

Mr. Wilson was born in Alachua. He also lived in Hawaii before moving to New Zealand in 1979.

He graduated from Santa Fe High School and then joined the U.S. Navy, where he was stationed in Hawaii. After his enlistment, he remained in Hawaii and operated the House and Garden Pest Control.

In New Zealand he was self-employed in the home construction business.

He enjoyed playing the guitar, composing music and singing. He played with several bands in New Zealand. He was a licensed pilot and also loved flying planes on his computer flight simulator.

He was preceded in death by a son, Wade Warren Wilson of Tauranga.

Survivors include his wife, Sheryl Ann Davies Wilson of Tauranga; a son, Anthony Allan "Tony" Wilson of Tulsa, Okla.; a daughter, Megan Marie Wilson of Sydney, Australia; a stepdaughter, Ginna Christensen of Tauranga; sisters Barbara Jeanette Krause and Shirley Mae Scott, both of Indianapolis, Ind., Mary Alice Blok of Panama; Margaret Louise Saucier of Ft. Pierce and Laura Sue Wilson of Gainesville; and two stepgrandchildren.
