Ruth Evelyn Kruse, 76, of Napoleon, died Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at St. Vincent's Mercy Medical Center in Toledo. She was born Nov. 23, 1931 in Sidney, to the late Roy and Ada (Gross) Ammon.

Ruth was a third grade teacher at Pike-Delta-York Schools for 20 years. She received her bachelors degree from Ohio Northern University in Ada. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Wauseon, and served many years as a Sunday School teacher at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Ridgeville Corners. She was a member of the National Education Association, the Ohio Education Association, and Pike-Delta-York Education Association. She was an avid bowler in leagues both in Archbold and Napoleon, and was a Fulton County Hospice volunteer.

Ruth is survived by a son, John (Mary) Kruse of LaMoille, Ill.; daughters, Mary Jo Britt of Archbold, Betty (Tom) Elling of Wauseon, and Toni (Chris) Neuenschwander of Archbold; grandchildren, Christopher (Sherry) Elling and Wendy (Brad) Eitniear, Ben (Jessi) Kruse, Mackenzie Kruse; Julian Kruse, Tambreah (Troy) Kruse-Carter, Jeremy and Trevor Neuenschwander; nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Phyllis(Leroy) Allinger of Anchorage, Alaska, and Virginia Ammon of Sidney.

She was also preceded in death by brothers, Robert and Gerald Ammon; sisters, Ethel Felver, Waneta Partington, and a granddaughter, Randi Kruse.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at the Rodenberger Funeral Home in Napoleon with Pastors Timothy Sonnenberg and Jen Herrmann officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Point Cemetery in Sidney at 1:30 p.m.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-8 p.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home in Napoleon.
