"William Christian Barrett was born Oct. 7, 1826 and died Jan, 19, 1887 (killed by a run away team) He married Feb. 2, 1853 to Ellen Jane Huntley, born Jan 21, 1835 died Sept. 13, 1878. They moved from White Store, Anson County, NC to Titus County, Texas in the fall of 1857 with three small children. The oldest was 3 years old and the youngest was 2 months old. They settled in Winfield, Texas. Winfield was first given the name 'Barrett' but later changed to Winfield. They had 10 children. Both are buried in the 'Barrett Cemetery' at Winfield, Texas."
