Rita M. Rawson of New Berlin died Monday, July 9, 2007, at age 76. Rita was born in Milwaukee on Aug. 12, 1930, the daughter of Leo and Agnes (nee Moritz) Zak. She was united in marriage to her late husband Robert "Bob" on June 25, 1949. She was active in the Christian Mothers and a member of St. William Catholic Church in Waukesha.
Rita will be missed by her sons, Michael (Selena) of New Berlin and John (Bev) of Elkhorn; daughters, Judy (Mike) Hanrahan of West Allis and Mary (Brad) Krueger of West Allis; grandsons, Robert, Matthew, Steven, Mark and Michael; granddaughters, Heidi and Holly; and her brothers, Al (Marge) Zak of St. Charles, Ill., and Paul Zak of Germantown. Rita is also survived by many other relatives and friends. Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; infant son, Bobby; and sister-in-law, Jeri Zak. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian burial Friday, July 13, at St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. The committal service will immediately follow at Highland Memorial Park, Brookfield. Memorials in Rita's name can be directed to the American Cancer Society, N19-W24350 Riverwood Drive, Waukesha, WI 53188, or the American Heart Association, 660 E. Mason St., Suite 200, Milwaukee, WI 53202
