From the Hamilton Herald-Record, October 6, 1933: The Death of Mrs. W.B. Cornelius. In the full of years and with life's work well done, and with all the Creator's purposes fulfilled in her, Mrs. Louisa Arrena Cornelius, widow of the late W.B. Cornelius, passed to her reward on Friday, September 29, being eighty-six years, nine months and fifteen days of age. Dissolution occurred at the family home in the Lanham community. In the little Lanham where Mrs. Cornelius had been a member of the Methodist congregation for so many years, the funeral service was held Saturday afternoon, conducted by her pastor, Rev. W.T. Veatch. Her children and almost every one of her grandchildren and great grandchildren were present to hear the sweetly solemn and divinely comforting songs Scriptural readings and tributes paid her as the last rites were said for the one at rest. A large company of neighbors and friends testified of their love for her by their presence at her funeral and the gift of flowers. Following the service at Lanham church the funeral cortege passed to the new I.O.O.F. cemetery in Hamilton where the body of Mrs. Cornelius was laid to rest in a grave made beside that of her husband, the commitment service being concluded by Rev. Edgar M. Wisdom, pastor of the Hamilton Methodist church.

She was 86 years, 9 months and 15 days of age. She was married to William Bostic Cornelius, January 24, 1867. They came to Texas in the fall of 1881. The following children were born to them; all of whom are living: Rex C., Fred E. and Coit Cornelius, all of Amarillo; Rufe A. Cornelius of Milnesand, New Mexico, Misses Ruby and Jennie Cornelius and Mrs. O.E. Bowles, of the Lanham community, and Mrs. D.C. Ashmore of Irving. There are also 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren surviving.Mr. Cornelius died almost seven years ago. Mrs. Cornelius was converted and joined the church at the age of nine years, making her a member of the Methodist church for almost 78 years. She had been a member of the Lanham Methodist Church for about fifty years. Mrs. Cornelius was a devoted wife and mother. Funeral services were held at the Lanham Methodist Church being conducted by her pastor Rev. W.T. Veach. Burial was in the New Odd Fellows Cemetery at Hamilton by the side of her husband, the services there being conducted by Rev. E.M. Wisdom, pastor of the Hamilton Methodist Church. The pallbearers were Jesse Paine, A.B. Morgan and Irvin Jones, all of Lanham; Felix Cornelius, a grandson of Amarillo; and the husbands of granddaughters, E. Taylor of Waco and Joe B. Woodward of Fort Worth. The services were attended by all of her children, most of the grandchildren and great grandchildren and a large crowd of friends and neighbors. Sympathy is extended to the bereaved loved ones of this dear woman; who they will greatly miss.

In the full of years and with life's work well done, and with all the Creator's purposes fulfilled in her, Mrs. Louisa Arrena Cornelius, widow of the late W.B. Cornelius, passed to her reward on Friday, September 29, being eighty-six years, nine months and fifteen days of age. Dissolution occurred at the family home in the Lanham community. In the little Lanham where Mrs. Cornelius had been a member of the Methodist congregation for so many years, the funeral service was held Saturday afternoon, conducted by her pastor, Rev. W.T. Veatch. Her children and almost every one of her grandchildren and great grandchildren were present to hear the sweetly solemn and divinely comforting songs Scriptural readings and tributes paid her as the last rites were said for the one at rest. A large company of neighbors and friends testified of their love for her by their presence at her funeral and the gift of flowers. Following the service at Lanham church the funeral cortege passed to the new I.O.O.F. cemetery in Hamilton where the body of Mrs. Cornelius was laid to rest in a grave made beside that of her husband, the commitment service being concluded by Rev. Edgar M. Wisdom, pastor of the Hamilton Methodist church.
The Hamilton County News, Oct 6, 1933: Louise Arenna Murphy Cornelius was born December 14, 1846, in Blount County, Alabama, and died September 29, 1933 at Lanham. She was 86 years, 9 months and 15 days of age. She was married to William Bostic Cornelius, January 24, 1867. They came to Texas in the fall of 1881. The following children were born to them; all of whom are living: Rex C., Fred E. and Coit Cornelius, all of Amarillo; Rufe A. Cornelius of Milnesand, New Mexico, Misses Ruby and Jennie Cornelius and Mrs. O.E. Bowles, of the Lanham community, and Mrs. D.C. Ashmore of Irving. There are also 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren surviving.Mr. Cornelius died almost seven years ago. Mrs. Cornelius was converted and joined the church at the age of nine years, making her a member of the Methodist church for almost 78 years. She had been a member of the Lanham Methodist Church for about fifty years. Mrs. Cornelius was a devoted wife and mother. Funeral services were held at the Lanham Methodist Church being conducted by her pastor Rev. W.T. Veach. Burial was in the New Odd Fellows Cemetery at Hamilton by the side of her husband, the services there being conducted by Rev. E.M. Wisdom, pastor of the Hamilton Methodist Church. The pallbearers were Jesse Paine, A.B. Morgan and Irvin Jones, all of Lanham; Felix Cornelius, a grandson of Amarillo; and the husbands of granddaughters, E. Taylor of Waco and Joe B. Woodward of Fort Worth. The services were attended by all of her children, most of the grandchildren and great grandchildren and a large crowd of friends and neighbors. Sympathy is extended to the bereaved loved ones of this dear woman; who they will greatly miss.
