Danny L. Barkyoumb, 48, Topeka, was found dead Friday, Feb. 21, 2003, at his home.
Mr. Barkyoumb had been self-employed for the past 10 years. He earlier had been employed at Hamms and Bettis Asphalt Construction.

He was born Oct. 17, 1954, at Onaga, the son of Jerrold L. and Dixie L. Graf Barkyoumb. He graduated from Seaman High School in 1973 and had lived most of his life in the Topeka area.

Mr. Barkyoumb was a member of Labor Union, Local No. 142.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Dixie and Melvin Moore, Topeka; two brothers, Jerry L. Barkyoumb and Darrell L. Barkyoumb, both of Topeka; two sisters, Dawna L. Barkyoumb, Rossville, and Ardie F. Moore, Topeka; four stepbrothers, John Dunlap, James Dunlap and Donald Dunlap, all of Wichita, and Doug Dunlap, Alabama; two stepsisters, Connie Wilson, Wichita, and Cindy Dodson, Tucson, Ariz.; and his fiance, Bonnie Price.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Parker-Price Chapel.

Burial will be in Prairie Home Cemetery.

Mr. Barkyoumb will lie in state after 3 p.m. Tuesday at Parker-Price Mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Danny L. Barkyoumb Memorial Fund, to be designated later, at 515 N.W. 35th, Topeka, 66617.
