Gerhard Endries, 61, died suddenly at St. Mary’s Hospital in Milwaukee last Saturday. He will be buried Wednesday at St. Nazianz at 9:30 a.m. The Rev. Frederick Dorn will officiate.
Mr. Endries was born Nov. 15, 1890, in St. Nazianz, where he lived all except the last five years of his life. He was a carpenter by trade. On June 9, 1914, he married Miss Leva Knier.

He is survived by his wife and seven children, 15 brothers, one sister and 23 grandchildren. His daughters are Mrs. Tony (Delphine) Endries, Milwaukee; Mrs. Tony (Margaret) Schwartz, Hayton; Mrs. Roland (Veronica) Bushman, Stockbridge.

His sons are Jerome, Milwaukee; Ezadore, St. Naziana; Bernard, Milwaukee; Gary, Fond du Lac. Brothers Clemens and John, St. Nazianz; Herman, Indiana; Alvin, Potter; Wilfred, Brillion and his sister Mrs. Math Bendersie, School Hill.

He belonged to the Holy Name Society which will say the Rosary at 7 p.m. at the Kellenbenz Funeral Home, St. Nazianz, on Tuesday. The body will lie in state at the Eugene Gweiand Funeral Home at 2416 W. Lifbon St. in Milwaukee from this noon until Tuesday morning. From Tuesday morning until Wednesday morning the body can be viewed at the Kellenbenz Funeral Home, St. Nazianz.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.

Endries, Gerhard Alex (Nov. 5, 1890-Aug. 9, 1952 –husband of Lena Knier [married June 9, 1914 at St. Gregory Catholic Church in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton] –son of John Endries and Mary Gellings –born Town of Eaton –carpenter and butcher –from Nov. 23, 1915 to June 23, 1924 owned the 80 acre farm at 17615 Townline Road in Section 1, Town of Schleswig –sold this farm to his younger brother John Endries –on April 1, 1924 purchased the St. Nazianz Meat Market at 207 South Fourth Avenue in St. Nazianz from Mathias Becker –during the depression, Gerhard was not able to keep his mortgage payments and lost the meat market on Oct. 1, 1935 –died from “heart failure”) –buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton [buried in Section 4, Row 4, Lot 1] [marriage record Manitowoc 11-363] [no death record found in near-by counties]
