Mrs. G. A. Mahler, 82, died suddenly last evening at 6:30 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. B. White, on Oak Lane. Mrs. Mahler, the wife of the late G. A. Mahler, who preceded her to the grave five years ago, has been a life-long resident of near Waynesboro and a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church of Waynesboro, which she attended regularly until the last year.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow (Sunday) at 4 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. C. Newman Faulconer conducting the service and interment will follow at the River View Cemetery. Remains will be at the Etter Funeral Home until the hour of the service.
She is survived by eight children, E. A. Mahler, Charles B. Mahler, J. Frank Mahler, Mrs. Effie Kite and Mrs. Mabel White, all of Waynesboro; and also Henry R. Mahler, of Thomasville, Ga.; Mrs. Margaret Cannon, of Hendersonville, N. C.; and Mrs. Elsie Boyhan, of Norfolk, Va.
Five brothers also survive, Ben Brooks and Isaac Brooks, of Wabash, Ind.; Charlie Brooks, Redland, Calif.; Preston and Harry Brooks, of this city; and also three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Heatwole, of Redland, Calif.; Mrs. L. M. Parrot and Miss Bettie Brooks, of this city.
Active pallbearers at services tomorrow will be C. L. McGann, Bert Hewitt, Jim Wilson, Lewis Barksdale, W. C. Copper and S. H. Hall.
Honorary pallbearers will be C. W. Brownlee, Russell Hyden, Dr. H. C. MacPherson, W. H. Wilkerson, J. H. McCrary, Clark Loving, Dr. Ernest Mosby, H. S. Meeteer, H. J. Huffman, Charles Grove, Russell Goolsby, and Herbert Terrell.
