Grygla----Beatrice Hook, 88 died January 11 at the Northwest Medical center in Thief River Falls.
Funeral services were held January 15 at the St. Petri Lutheran church in Grygla with Rev. Daniel Faugstad officiating. Special music was provided by Rev. Faugstad, soloist, and Tami Sparby, organist. Casketbearers were James Holte, Roy Susdahl, Richard Sunsdahl, Greg Sjulestad, Dale Newton and Loren Lusignan. Interment was in the church cemetery. The Belmont Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Beatrice Mable Hook was born Jan. 21, 1902 in Zumbrota, the daughter of George and Ruth (Sibley) Hook. She grew up in Zumbrota and later moved with her parents to the Grygla area. In the 1930's she worked as a cook for threshing crews in the area.
Beginning in the early 1950's she worked as a cook for the Grygla school and for area restaurants.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Morris (Ruth) Melby of Fergus Falls; six grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Flossie Newton of Grygla.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two great-grandhcildren; and three brothers: Clarence, Lester, and Leslie.
