GEORGE F. ROGERS DIES
George Franklin Rogers, 55-year-old husband of Mrs. Della Mae Colson Rogers, died at his residence, Route Two, Box 623, d'Iberville, Sunday morning at 10:30.
Mr. Rogers was a native of Vancleave, Miss., and has resided in d'Iberville for the past 14 years. He worked as a carpenter most of his life and has worked at Keesler AFB for the past 12 years as a carpenter foreman until his illness about ten months ago. He was a member of the Latter Day Saints Church.
Other than his wife, he is survived by four sons, George Jr., U.S. Navy, Norfolk, Va.; Kenneth E. Rogers, U.S. Navy, San Diego, Calif.; Joseph S. Rogers, U.S. Navy aboard the USS Princeton; and James F. Rogers of d'Iberville; two daughters, Mrs. Sam Oehler, Brownsville, Texas, and Miss Shirley Jean Rogers of d'Iberville; six sisters, Mrs. Walter Mansfield and Mrs. Allie Ladnier of Pascagoula, Mrs. Carver Cunningham, Moss Point; Mrs. DelRoy Scott and Mrs. Norman Brown of Mobile, and Mrs. Alice Gautier of Houston, Texas; and one brother, Roth J. Rogers, Prichard, Ala.; and 14 grandchildren.
The funeral will by from the O'Keefe Funeral Home on Friday at 2 pm followed by services at the Latter Day Saints Church of Vancleave with burial in Evergreen Cemetery of Vancleave.
