Funeral services were held for Mrs. James C. (Vera D.) White, 1344 Maple, Monday, 20 Jul in the chapel of Gene Roden's Sons with the Rev. Milton Guttierrez and the Rev. Jack McNabb officiating. Burial was in Meadowbrook Cemetery.
Mrs. White died Friday, 17 Jul 1981 at Cherry Street Manor. She was born 18 Jan 1898 in Roxton, a daughter of Oscar and Mary Jones Barner.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, James White and Corrie Eugene White; three daughters, Jane Elizabeth McHam, Mary Katherine Shorthose and Christine Coker; 13 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. Bearers were Jack Rutherford, Bill Dodson, George Waterman, Byron Richey, Dee Cunningham, Harry Walker, Horace Cranston and Larry Grinstead. Honorary bearers were members of the Brotherhood Sunday School Class of Oak Park United Methodist Church.
