Mrs. Byars Funeral Service Held Wednesday

Funeral services were conducted from the Houlka Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 am, Wednesday, Feb 16, 1977, for Mrs. Ora Dee Holliday Byars, 75. She succumbed on Monday, Feb 14.

Mrs. Byars was born in Chickasaw County on Feb 14 1902 and resided in Chickasaw County all her life. She was the daughter of James L and Fairy Young Holliday. She was the widow of the late Evans Byars and a member of the Houlka Presbyterian Church.

The Rev. Charles Champion officiated at the funeral services. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery.

She leaves two sons, Tom Byars, Houlka, and James Byars of Pontotoc; one daughter, Mrs. Virginia Owen, Pontotoc; three half sisters, Mrs. Alline Moore, Montpelier, Mrs. Lucille Childress and Mrs. Sue Davis, Houston; one half brother, Frank Holliday, West Point; fifteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
