Lloyd Eaton dead at 51

Funeral services for Lloyd M Eaton, Sr., 51, were held at 10 am Thursday, May 19 by Revs Bobby Long and James E Kennedy at First Baptist Church in Houston. He was interred in Chickasaw Memorial Gardens. He died May 18 at 1:15 am at Houston Hospital. Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

The native of Clarksdale spent most of his life in Chickasaw County and was the county sheriff at the time of his death. He was the son of Lonnie F Eaton and Icie Mable Carlisle.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lee Eaton; three sons, Lloyd M Eaton, Jr., of Grenada, Edward Eaton of Mantee, and David H Eaton of Houston; two daughters, Mrs. Velma Donahoo of Cedar Bluff, Mrs. Peggy Sue Ard of Houston; one brother, Floyd Eaton of Woodland; one sister, Mrs. Thelma Henderson of West Point; two half brothers, five half sisters, and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers included Roger Oswalt, Douglas West, Carl L Craig, Andrew Lyles, Fred Clark and Toy Coleman.

Honorary pallbearers included Tom Byars, Dr. W L Stabler, Jerry Hall, Sonny Long, James Ward, Virgle Middleton, Dan Davis, Howard Bowen, Dr. John D Dyer and Mack Cook.

Also, John Brand, Joe Bullock, Jimmy Woffard, Bo Norman, James Hardin, Robert Criddle, Joe Lee Doss, Gene Johnson, Bobby Langley, James Blisard, Audie Randle and Amos Bates.
