Enid, OK — The funeral for William Rodney "Rod" Adams, 78, of Medford, will be 10 a.m. Mon-day, Oct. 26, 2009, at First Christian Church, Medford. The Rev. Craig VanDeburgh will officiate. Burial will be in Pond Creek Cemetery. Arrangements are by Hills-Ely Funeral Home, Medford.

He was born Sept. 26, 1931, in Jefferson to John Quincy and Marietta Hawkins Adams and died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center.

He was a graduate of Jefferson High School. He moved to California after college. He operated a Los Angeles Times dealership from 1961 to 1978. He returned to Grant County, working various jobs including farming and raising cattle.

He also lived in Houston, selling real estate. In the early 1990s, he returned to the family farm in Grant County, where he continued to farm and raise cattle.

Surviving are two sons, Vaughn Adams of Apple Valley, Calif., and Aubrey Adams of Herndon, Va.; one daughter, Lesley Adams-Wilborn of Broken Arrow; two brothers, John Adams of Medford and Jerome Adams of Prescott, Ariz.; two sisters, Joan Shire of Medford and Barbara Campbell of Enid; one grandson; and two stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant sister and twin infant granddaughters.
