Author mourned at Hollywood - Body of Miss Martha Jane Opie to rest in Pennsylvania

HOLLYWOOD, April 14 - citizens of this community mourned the loss of Miss Martha Jane Opie Tuesday, as the body of the 80-year-old author and poet who died in Ft. Lauderdale late last Saturday night, was sent to Tremont, Pa., for burial.
Born in Donaldson, Pa., Miss Opie had spent a large number of her declining years in Hollywood where she owned residences on Madison Street in the city and on Authur Street at the beach. Included among her contributions to American contemporary literature were her books; "The Garden of Memories" and "Daily Gleanings" and the "Book of Books." She was a member of the American Society of Pen Women and was listed in the London Onthology and the Whos Who of North American Authors.
