EUGENE LEROY DAVIS

The funeral for Eugene LeRoy Davis of Gaston will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Forest Grove Memorial Chapel in Forest Grove. He died in his home Saturday of cancer. He was 68.

Mr. Davis was born Jan. 29, 1925, in South Haven, Mich. He moved to the Orenco area in 1942. He worked in the Portland shipyards during World War II.

In 1944, he married Germaine Hoefer in Hillsboro. In 1957, the couple bought a farm in the Cornelius area. In 1977, Mr. Davis went into the construction business. A few years later they bought five acres in the Hagg Lake area and built a home.

Surviving are his wife; sons, Dennis of Hillsboro, Gary of Cornelius, Randy of Beaverton and Brad of Forest Grove; daughters, Sue Adams of Cornelius and Sharon Camarillo of Gaston; brothers, David of Padre Island, Texas, Donald of Kelso, Wash., and Jay ''Burton'' of Central Valley, Calif.; sisters, Marion Allerman of Verboort and Martha Zook of Prineville; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family suggests that remembrances be contributions for the care of Gene Davis, a grandchild of Mr. Davis', and may be made to any U.S. Bank branch, Act. 1626065781.

Burial will be in Forest View Cemetery in Forest Grove.
