Virginia R. Elliott, 74, of Streator, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 6, at Heritage Manor in Streator.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Winterrowd Funeral Home.Services will follow at the funeral home. Burial will be in Moon Point Cemetery at a later date following cremation.
She was born July 16, 1934, in Streator, to Edwin LaVerne and Helen (Clark) Carpenter.
She is survived by a daughter, Kathy Taylor of Streator; two sons, Dennis (Melanie) Bakalar of Streator and Erik (Paula) Bakalar of Joliet;11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty (Richard) Finch of Streator; brothers, Kenneth (Lorene) Carpenter of Naples, Fla., and Gregory (Linda) Carpenter of Streator; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, John Steven Bakalar; and a sister, Carolyn Kmetz.
She was last employed at Kroger in Streator. She attended Streator Grade Schools and graduated from Streator High School in 1952.
