Cecil S. Roberts
Funeral Services for Cecil S. Roberts, 61, were held at 10 A.M. Saturday, March 24, from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton, with Rev. Roger C. Moore officiating. Internment was in Meridian Memorial Park.
Mr. Roberts died Thursday at the V. A. Hospital in Jakson folowing a lengthy illness. He was a resident of Richland community for the past 12 years and had lived in Jackson for a number of years. He was a retired Mail Clerk with the U.S. Post Office, a member of the Richland united Methodist Church and a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gladys (Boyles) Roberts, Richland; one sister, Mrs Christine Pope, Jackson; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were James M. Donaldson II, Charles E. Johnson, Robert Boyles, Bill ottham, Earl Diffrent, and Roy Ainsworth.
Cecil is buried beside his mother Mattie Jones Roberts, with a shared headstone.
Cecil never had any children.
