Judy Ann Oxford Hibbitts won her victory over breast cancer when she went home to meet Jesus on Friday morning, Oct. 23, 2009.
Service: 11 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of Arlington. Interment: She will be laid to rest with her father and mother in Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery in her hometown of Fort Worth. Visitation: 10 a.m. Monday at the church.
Judy was born in Fort Worth on May 15, 1944. She graduated from Eastern Hills High School in 1962, Hardin-Simmons University with a BA in 1966 and North Texas State Unversity (UNT) with an MLS in 1971. Judy was a woman of faith and family, a loyal friend and the best librarian we've ever known. She was a lover of literature, history, art, music and culture. She loved to travel and had been throughout the United States, Asia and eastern and western Europe. She was a loyal and active member of Sagamore Hill Baptist Church in Fort Worth and First Baptist Church in Arlington.
Survivors: Daughter, Chrisanna Hibbitts of Carrollton; former husband, Don Hibbitts of Denton; brother, Barry; sister-in-law, Linda; nephew, Nick Oxford of Springfield, Va.; niece, Stephanie Oxford Edmunds of Lewisville; and three grandnieces and grandnephews, Serenity, Rickee and T.J. of Abilene.
