Hardy Lester Wolfe
August 10, 1883 - November 25, 1961

Hardy Lester Wolfe, 79, of 68 Rock Hill Road, died at 5pm Saturday in an Asheville hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Wolfe, a native of Buncombe County, was a retired carpenter.

Surviving are the widow, Lorick Fitzpatrick Wolfe; three daughters, Mrs. Frank Rhymer, Mrs. Charles Snyder and Miss Johnnie Penley of Asheville; three sons, Harry and Neal Wolfe of Asheville and Furman Wolfe of West Asheville; a sister, Mrs. H. M. Cauble of Biltmore; two brothers, Carl L. Wolfe of Oteen and E. F. Wolfe of Biltmore; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 2pm Monday in Buena Vista Baptist Church. The Rev. Bill Nelson, pastor, the Rev. Joel Ferguson and the Rev. Woodrow Flynn will officiate. Burial will be in the New Salem Cemetery in Skyland.

Active pallbearers will be Frank Smith, Harley Yarborough, Melvin Carling, Floyd Brown, Joe Stevens and Ben Lanning. Honorary pallbearers will be Judge Zeb Nettles, Judge Sam Cathey, Dr. C. K. Phillips, Sty Whitaker, Tom Boone, Godfrey Lipe and members of the Carpenters Union No. 384.

The body will remain in Dunn and Williams Funerall Home until taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service.
