Funeral Services Held Sunday

Afternoon in Prescott

Funeral services for Elmer Louis Phillips, who died Friday, September 13, were held in the Methodist church at Prescott Sunday afternooon at two. The rites were conducted by the Rev. Paul Pentz, pastor.

The deceased, the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Phillips, was born near Prescott, Kansas, on August 24, 1893 and departed this life September 13, 1946 at the age of 53 years, 1 month and 20 days.

He was united in marriage to Virgie German on February 26, 1919, at McPherson, Kansas. To this union five children were born: Leonard, of Waco, Texas; Loretta, of Kansas City, Kansas; Herold, of Dighton, Kansas; Zerlene and Elmer Dean of the home in Pleasanton. Besides the family, he leaves to mourn his loss, three sisters and three brothers and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers were Ed Singleton, P. V. Pruitt, Manuel Smith, Ellsworth Gentle, Rees Shattuck, Bus Melton. Burial was in the Prescott cemetery.
