In the book, "The Chronicles of a Country Church: Little Mount Baptist" by Mary Frances McClain Brown, John Cheek was a stone mason who is credited with building the drystack stone wall seen in the photo. He was paid 12 silver coins which he had minted into 12 silver spoons and divided them amongst his sons. He was a member of the church from 1865 until his death.
