Mrs. Grace Lucille McGinnis Sawyer , 79, of Charlotte died May 21, 1994, at home. Funeral is 2 p.m. Monday at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, where she was a member. Burial will be in Sharon Memorial Park. Visitation is 7 to 8:30 tonight at Wilson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Sawyer , a Kings Mountain native, was a homemaker and had lived in Charlotte since 1951. She had attended Kings Mountain schools.

Survivors are her husband, Karl; sons, Karl Sawyer Jr., Pierce Sawyer ; daughters, Mrs. Kay Cowan of Mint Hill, Mrs. Jeanne Matlock of Weddington; brothers, Hubert McGinnis, Donald McGinnis, Bill McGinnis, all of Kings Mountain; sisters, Mrs. Virginia Sabettie of Kings Mountain, Mrs. Dorothy Whetstine of North Myrtle Beach, Mrs. Janet Eagle of Landis; 11 grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hospice at Charlotte, 1420 E. 7th St., Charlotte, N.C. 28204; or to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 1001 Queens Rd., Charlotte, N.C. 28207. The family will be at Pierce Sawyer 's home, 5208 Carriage Drive Cir.
