Betty M. (Kraft) Ness, 84, of Thomasville, entered into rest October 24, 2009, at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home in York. She was the beloved wife of 57 years of Ralph I. Ness, who passed away in 2004.

Mrs. Ness was born July 28, 1925, in Jackson Township. She was the daughter of the late Charles M. Kraft Sr. and Jennie R. (Hoke) Kraft.

She was a longtime member of Christ (Roth's) Lutheran Church. She owned and operated Ness Beauty Salon in York and Thomasville from 1969 to 1979. She also worked at the Old Bank Craft Shop in East Berlin from 1980 to 1990 and was a greeter at Walmart in Hanover from 1990 to 1999.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda M. Smith and her husband, John of Thomasville; a granddaughter, Jackie Cunningham; her great-granddaughter, Samantha Bollinger; a sister , Darlene C. Almoney of Windsor; and two brothers , Charles M. Kraft, Jr. of Orlando Fla., and Lawrence R. Kraft of Seven Valleys.

She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Christ (Roth's) Lutheran Church Cemetery.
