Marie was born January 6, 1916 to the late Ida Lee Bruner Bennett and Dozier Bennett. Marie lived most of her life in Young County and was a longtime member of Oak Street Baptist Church. Marie married Marvin Osborn January 31, 1931 in Throckmorton. He preceded her death after 64 years of marriage on March 15, 1995. Marie and Marvin worked on several area ranches while raising their family. She also worked as a sales clerk for many years, and her last job was with United grocery store. She was known by many for her beautiful crochet work and won an award in a Wal-Mart sponsored needlework contest. She loved working in her garden, growing vegetables, fruits and flowers, and even kept a small but pretty flower garden at her apartment. Marie enjoyed living with so many friends at St. Michael's Estates for the last several years of her life and felt that she had a blessed life.
Survivors include; sons, Harold Edwin Osborn and wife Sharon of Coppell and Donald Ray Osborn and wife Sue of San Antonio; daughter-in-law Clois Osborn (Mrs. Billy Robert Osborn) of Weatherford; ten grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and seven great great grandchildren; numerous nieces also survive.
Marie was preceded in death by a son, Billy Robert Osborn; sisters, Ona Lee Bennett, Aura Bennett Davis and Pauline Carter Parker; brothers, Lonnie Bennett, Clarence, Elvis, J.T., and Kelton Carter.
